Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is a type of alternative health care in which the body heals itself without the use of surgery or medicines. The nervous system, like the spine, plays a crucial role in the body. Chiropractic therapy is primarily focused on the structure of the body (the spine) and its function (as determined by the nervous system). A chiropractor can make corrections that enhance the skeletal system and restore nerve pulses to full functionality. In a chiropractic office, this is accomplished by spinal and extremities manipulation. As a result, the neuro-skeletal system has been restored to its full potential.

How the body protects itself

Overuse of the spine or a sudden injury can cause joint dysfunction. Motion is altered, and movement is decreased. Often insufficient information is relayed to the brain.  Joint dysfunction is the body's approach of protecting itself by limiting movement in the area through the use of a guarding reflex.
