The Miracle Wave® | Piezo

What is Miracle Wave?

Shock wave therapy (also known as ESWT) is a modern, non-invasive treatment that uses high-intensity sound waves (acoustic pulses) to help promote healing faster and more effectively - with no downtime. It is a therapy used worldwide in the field of sport's medicine and physical therapy.

Shock wave therapy transmits high peak acoustic pressure waves to promote and accelerate healing for chronic and subacute conditions. Research supports shock wave therapy as an effective treatment for various soft tissue injuries, musculoskeletal pain and mobility issues.

Biological benefits include:

  • Reduce pain faster
  • Improve range of motion
  • Increase blood flow and micro circulation
  • Stimulate tissue remodeling and neovascularization
  • Remodel fibrotic tissue and release trigger points
  • Reverse chronic inflammation
  • Increase nitric oxide (NO)
  • Activates stem cells and growth factors

How does it work?

Shock wave therapy utilizes advanced acoustic wave technology sending noninvasive high-peak pressure waves into injured tissue quickly alleviating pain while also kickstarting the angiogenesis process, accelerating tissue regeneration, and restoring mobility and function to affected areas. Shock wave therapy is known under many names such as acoustic pressure wave therapy (APWT), extracorporeal pulse activation therapy (EPAT), and acoustic wave therapy (AWT); however, the two main categorizes of shock wave therapy are categorized as radial and focused waves. Radial shock wave therapy is optimal for a wider variety of indications, whereas focused shock wave therapy offers a deeper penetration for targeted conditions.

k laser, class 4

Cellular Effects of K-Laser Therapy

During K-Laser Therapy the infrared laser light interacts with tissues at the cellular level and metabolic activity increases within the cell, improving the transport of nutrients across the cell membrane. This initiates the production of cellular energy (ATP) that leads to a cascade of beneficial effects, increasing cellular function and health.

K-Laser (Class IV)

Class IV K-Laser Therapy is a Pain Free application delivering infrared laser light to the affected tissue. This promotes increased circulation, decreased swelling, reduction of pain, and accelerated healing and tissue repair. Our doctors specialize in K-Laser Therapy; they find it very beneficial in treating of soft tissue Injuries, sprains, strains, repetitive strain injuries as well as back, elbow, arm and neck pains.

Laser Therapy, or “photobiomodulation”, is the use of specific wavelengths of light (red and near-infrared) to create therapeutic effects. These effects include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling. Laser Therapy has been widely utilized in Europe by physical therapists, nurses and doctors as far back as the 1970’s. Now, after FDA clearance in 2002, Laser Therapy is being used extensively in the United States.

Back to Balance Wellness Center FAQs

  • Why Should I See A Chiropractor?

Seeing a chiropractor is not only for back pain and neck pain. Chiropractic care is an excellent way to keep your body at its peak performance through nutrition, chiropractic adjustment and overall wellness. In addition, chiropractic care has been known to help a wide range of conditions from fibromyalgia to diabetes. Contact us today to speak to our chiropractors

  • How Does Chiropractic Care Work?

Chiropractic is a holistic approach to the human body. It's based on the premise that the body can sustain itself and cure itself. The brain, by its relationship with the spinal cord and the enormous networks of nerves that make up the body, is in essence entirely in control of the body. When this system is not working properly, the human body's entire performance suffers.

Drugs and medicine are not used as a means of treatment in the chiropractic world. While supplementation and nutrition are virtually always a component of the wider picture, medicines and prescriptions are often used as band-aids to alleviate symptoms rather than addressing the root of the problem.

While it's common to believe that a chiropractor's only job is to cure back and neck problems, this is only a small part of what the profession can actually do. Chiropractors are often relied upon to deal with more serious conditions in addition to soft and hard tissue concerns like sciatica and joint pain. Fibromyalgia, allergies, sleeplessness, headaches, and other conditions are among them.

  • Is Chiropractic Effective?

Chiropractic care can assist to correct postural imbalances and structural misalignments that can develop over time in our bodies. Chiropractic care works by restoring your body's natural ability to repair itself. Your nervous system must function properly in order for your body to stay healthy. Your nervous system must be free of interruption in order to work properly. Nerve interference caused by misplaced vertebrae is addressed by Chiropractic adjustments, allowing for optimal nervous system function and increased health.

  • What Is A Chiropractic Adjustment? Is It Safe?

The small movement of vertebrae in the spine is referred to as "adjustments" or "manipulation." The goal of this movement is to realign vertebrae that have become misaligned as a result of a variety of factors ranging from normal everyday activity to trauma such as a car accident.

When these vertebrae are misaligned, it has a systemic effect that affects everything from the muscles to the central nervous system. We can't function at our best without correct alignment and flow of all nerves and systems in the body from the brain.

An adjustment is when a chiropractor applies pressure to a vertebrae using his or her hands or an instrument to shift it back into position. This occurs with a fast movement and is usually painless. Joint cavitation, which sounds like you're cracking your knuckles, is a common symptom. It is the release of gases from the joint, such as oxygen and nitrogen.

  • What Can I Expect From My Visit To A Chiropractor?

For many of us, going to the chiropractor is a new experience. Maybe we heard about it from a friend or did some research online. It's possible that you've had enough of living in pain and that it's time to take action. In either case, your initial visit to the chiropractor will be mostly focused on getting to know the doctor and discussing your medical history, present condition, and desired outcomes.
